Info on lcd display from clocks or the chip running them.?
I Had a few old digital clocks lying around and decided to take them apart and see if i could use the parts.Many of them had a black blob over the chip, and coming out of it, just a resistance, a cristal and 13 pins to the display. The display shows 3 seven segment digits, a " 1" 2 segments and the dots I cant figure out how to wire some output from anywhere else to the display or how to use the output from the clock on any other thing leds for example .If you could provide info, datasheets or any clue on how this works it would be great.Answers saying " i dont know" and that sort of things will be flagged.I already figured it out. I will leave the question anyways so feel free to point me out on any interesting info about digital clocks.

the display information is there and it says there is low light, even when its clearly bright out. the auto focus cant focus on anything and now when i turn it on it shuts off after a couple seconds. if you have any ideas as to what could be the problem let me know.

Hi Anybody know if the iphone 2g lcd will display correctly when separated from the digitizer? I notice there was a layer of liquid oily between the lcd and the digitizer during dis assembly. The lcd only show bright white light now after I put it back together. So I was wondering what was the liquid and is it required in order for picture to show through? note I'm not talking about the layer between lcd and glass note2 before i cleaned that liquid off...I tried pressing down on one spot and i can see the iphone working background and icons .

While watching my 2 year old samsung LCD tv, several clusters of pixels 6 of them roughly 4" x4" each began to gradually flicker rapidly back and fourth with different colors that do not match the rest of picture it looks like little chunks of colorful static in several locations.
